CR7 + LM10 = Real Madrid One Thousand?

 

Finally the awesomeness is back! Welcome to my latest career and what i'd call my first stand out career of 2014, unless you've been under a rock for the last few years you should understand my title, partly anyway.

CR7 Is The Winking Wizard Cristiano Ronaldo!

Ronaldo needs no introduction around here after my brilliant completed one thousand goal challenge with him last year and i'm delighted to be working with him once again! Viva Ronaldo!!

 

Wait....What's Going On Here?

 

Recently when messing around on FMH i decided to try something which has been impossible in previous versions of the game, this impossible feat was to sign the outstanding Messi from Barcelona in the first window with no outside interference like Sugar Daddy. I wasn't expecting anything to come out of this test but to my shock i discovered Lionel Messi is now signable! Yes my friends for a massive £140 million you can also see this amazing image!

The method in pulling this deal off is extremely straight forward, after adjusted budgets Real Madrid have a massive £82m so all you need to do is raise another £18m and offer Angel Di Maria in the deal. 

 

What Now?

 

I'm sure most of you have worked out where this is going now but for those of you a bit slow in keeping up i'll explain my plan of attack.

 

Ronaldo and Messi will be facing off in an edited Double Trouble Challenge!!

 

The Double Trouble challenge posted by MM last year is a difficult challenge in which you aim to score 1200 goals between two strikers and this is where my edit comes in, due to the age of my chosen strikers my aim isn't 1200 but one thousand as the title revealed. 

 

I'm aiming for one thousand mainly due to the age of the players and the fact from my experience Messi doesn't score that many so with my out and out goal scorer declining rather quick in the save i decided i would need a slightly lower target. To be honest though the target isn't overly important, my aim is to have fun, entertain you guys and to get a respectable score on the leader board. Who knows maybe i will hit the 1200, maybe i'll only hit 1k? Maybe i'll miss both targets? The only way to find out is to stay tuned and watch this adventure unfold!

When I found out 2 new careers here posted by you Ashez, it made me soooo happy .... :) will be enjoying both, this should be just a little more entertaining :)

Damn I've missed comments like that :P. I'm hoping this will be the start of a few careers as this save has finally got me into 2014. I've tried so many saves this year and none have lasted or gone to plan but finally this one is working out, or is to the point I'm at, although it does have a few interesting twists which AS will love :(.

As for posting two careers today, I'd like the other one to be treated as Alfie's and not mine as it has nothing to do with me apart from I'm posting it for him and he deserve his own support.

CR7 + LM10

 

Season One - Background:

 

Once i had decided that this was the career i needed to bring me back to my creative best i went into testing mode, in total i had around six test saves where i was trying out ideas for formations and other various things related to the save like training schedules. The formation was becoming the real problem though as i was struggling to bring the best out of both the strikers while also maintaining good form, for example i created this formation which scored roughly a goal a game for each striker but i was on the verge of being sacked.

An interesting formation but one that really wouldn't work long time, after a few more tests i came up with this formation which got Ronaldo firing but Messi was being out scored by Bale, obviously not a good thing for this type of challenge.

After a while i decided to go back to basics and to create the tactic based on the strikers needs, for example the ball in the air is almost worthless to Messi yet Ronaldo can shine with his heading ability, the contrasts between the strikers did bring with it issues though. After a few more worthless tests i decided that my best bet at the early stages of the career is to focus on Ronaldo, he's the main man and the goal scorer so i need to make the most of him. The problem was though that i couldn't drop Messi to AMC or out wide as the challenge states the players must always play as a striker, i had one last choice, to push Messi out to the FR role.

Now we're onto something! The idea behind this formation is pretty simple, it's an extremely attacking 4-4-2 as it only has three defensive players, three neutral players and the rest are attack minded! The idea was simple, Messi may not be able to head the ball in the air but from his new ISF position he can arrive late at the edge of the box and work with the crosses Bale provides while any balls in Ronaldo's area are his to claim. The ball in the air was covered as Bale and the right wing back should provide enough crosses for the lads to score goals but on the deck the formation looked a little bland, this is when i added in the play maker sitting between and below my golden strike force.  Modirc would dictate the play from this position and the three of them would have plenty of space as Messi as the ISF is occupying both the right sided center back and the full back, with Bale worrying the left sided full back Ronaldo can be left on a one on one in the box, only ever going to be one winner!! The rest of the formation is pretty basic, a standard back five protected by a ball winning midfielder and a neutral central midfielder to recycle possession. After some tests i found out this formation was far from idea yet it produced goals so in the end i decided that the strikers glory was more important than the clubs, brave move! Although this formation and plan does change alot during this save, especially when the players get older and stamina becomes more of an issue but we'll cross that bridge when we get to it.

 

The final piece of the puzzle was to create each strikers training schedules which was a pretty simple process, Ronaldo would be on Dec's normal attacking system for now while Messi's would have defense off as there is no point messing with his heading with fitness bumped up.

Almost the perfect final, if only Messi was on side! However the most important thing here is we've now got the extra Club World Championship games and that first round can be a blood bath!

An extremely lucky season which could have gone either way, if i had lost to Barca in the title run in i would have been sitting in second place! As you can see the formation provides goals galore but concedes way to many to be practical, i'll need to make it more defensively stable soon!

Ronaldo always turns up for the big games! With him and Messi in my side we should have success regardless of the leaks at the back!

A more than credible start for the awesome twosome! Ten more seasons like this and we'll break 1200......Like Ronaldo will last or perform that long.

Nobody is worth that much in real life, not even 100M. But Messi in particular, isn't worth that much in the game because he misses way too much, no idea why.

 

Good solid start and I'm curious on how much CR7 could score playing solo.
