Challenge Ashez:

It's me again and i'm bringing you guys yet another career, however this one will be different! As a staff member it's my job to get you excited for 2015 while at the same time i think it's my job to keep you guys playing the game! 15 will be out any day now in theory and i understand 2014 is starting to feel old and boring but hopefully this idea will have you dusting off your devices!

FMH Offers Stress Relief?:

While looking through my files for ideas for my "What's Ashez Been Playing" career i found my stress relief folder, i play a lot of FMH and at times the game does wear me down when ideas don't work out but thankfully i've found a way to remove stress in game. The best thing about playing FMH is scoring goals right? So the best stress relief the game can offer is just smashing the SPSC in Brazil! The beauty of the SPSC is it's quick and easy to play and it brings goals galore, i've had hundreds of SPSC only careers during my life time on Vibe as i find it's a great way to bring your love back for the game and i seriously suggest everyone tries it!

The Challenge:

The challenge is simple yet exciting, the idea here is you guys have to face off against me within the SPSC to see who can get the best score with a single striker! We'll only be playing from the start of the save until the first league game of the season so these saves will be extremely quick to play as it's only around 25 games!

How Will This Work?

Due to the time of year it currently is i don't want to be waiting for challengers so i've came up with a system to determine who i will be facing off against, which i'll get into shortly but round one will work like this.

For round one i've selected a staff member to face and excitingly he's a member i've never faced before! Once this opening post is posted we'll be waiting for the member in question to post his score, once he's posted it i'll post mine and we'll see who gets the point, Ashez or Vibe!!

After this first round though the format will change as my next opponent will be the first person to post there results in this thread! So for example say i'm playing Leroy in this first round, he'll post his results and mine will follow, then the next person to post a results screenshot that meets the rules etc will be my next opponent!

The idea here is it means i won't be waiting for people to face and it'll encourage you guys to get the save played and posted. I know some people will think it's unfair that i know the striker the opposition has used and his results but you guys can trust me that i will be playing legit, the point of me seeing these is to ensure i use a different striker, so i know what level of striker i should be using and so i know that the round will actually take place.

The Rules:

As this is a head to head i've added a few rules which you must stick to.

1. No use of any of the unlockables

2. The original database only, to make it fair for myself

3. A striker can only be used once!! No reserving, first come first serve sorry.

4. I'll open up the rounds after each has finished, the first person to post a results screenie after that will be my opponent and i'll then have my results up asap.

5. No old screenshots, the idea here is for you guys to play the save now.

6. Own formations only

7. You can have as many attempts as you like before taking part in a round, however please get involved asap. If no one has joined after 48 hours of the round opening i'll allow previously played members to try again.

8. You play until the first league game of the season, all games played previously count.

9. You must use the default start date.

10. You can be any club within the SPSC

11. You can do any transfers you like as long as they're legit.

12. If this is successful i might add special rounds, for example allowing SD to be used.

13. As long as the interest remains this will run until 2015's release

Round One:

The staff member in question has informed me the save has started and he'll have the results up soon, all i know is i have to avoid a Belgium striker.......Hmmmmm i wonder who this could be! This is either extremely obvious or the biggest play in Vibe history, i guess only time will tell!

Thank you for viewing, please remember to leave a comment and i hope you guys all get involved :D.

It's a cup competition found in Brazil, it runs before the league starts and it has 19 fixtures plus play offs to crown a champion.

I think the intention is to keep everything in this thread, but Ash will be able to confirm.

The SPSC is a lot of fun: imagine a huge free-for-all wrestling match with four 7ft, 25 stone monsters and 16 under-nourished five year olds and you'll have some idea. Really easy to do well if your one of the big guys, but not so simple to win.

would you  explain this please?

8. You play until the first league game of the season, all games played previously count."

I can't finish the cup before that!

The SPSC takes place before the normal season starts. It's like a mini league of its own. The first part of a "season" in Brazil starts with you playing in the SPSC, along with some continental matches, if you've qualified. Once the SPSC has finished the normal first division season begins.

Results should be posted here but only when they are required.

You do not play passed the 10th of May. (Just checked and the league starts on the 11th). All games and goals before this date count, so you'll be playing between 19 and 26 matches I believe.

This is awesome - going to start my save now I reckon - just to confirm, by original database does that include the official SI February update or the original from when the game was first released?

It might be interesting for the challenge if you used the same striker as us, rather than a similar one - then it really is down to the tactics and manager (although can't account for pa roll I guess)...

Maybe a variation to try after the first few rounds?

Just started this and man I love the SPSC

@RJH:  I'll keep it in mind for a later date  but as I like using lesser known strikers I doubt that would be fun for me :P, I also think a massive part of goal challenges is selecting and finding your own striker.

@DM: The selection system is explained in the OP, after I reveal my results I'll open it up for an entry, whoever posts there results here first is who I will face.

he surely must be around 26 or more, becaus of the 8 years clue :P and also he has to be manageable to get to Brazil....but I can't figure it out :)
and about that Belgium striker, I feel it may be Origi or Batshuayi :)

Challenge Ashez Round 1 - Peely

Yes, Dirtboy was correct, the first round pits me against Vibe's king of challenges. I've always enjoyed the Sao Paulo State Championship: it's just a shame you have to manage in Brazil to experience it. I've hardly touched Brazil this year, but as luck would have it, I did a test season for my 4-2-1-3 formation there only a few weeks ago, so it all felt quite familiar.

The Club

There could only really be one club for the challenge if I wanted the finacial grunt to bring in new players:

logotipo_sao_paulo.jpg

Their starting transfer budget isn't that impressive, but they have loads of unused wages that can be transferred across.

The Player

I didn't go with Origi this time, it would have been a little obvious and, while he's a great player, he's a bit too young for this sort of challenge. I was looking for a player in his prime, with decent stats, but nobody too well known. A quick search through the available strikers threw up the ideal player:

The Formation

Given that I wanted my stiker to score as much as possible I decided to go with my 4-4-1-1 rather than the 4-2-1-3. This was a slightly risky approach, since the 4-4-1-1 had never been tested in Brazil, but I figured that the SPSC was easy enough that it shouldn't be a problem.

The only slight issue was that Sao Paulo don't really have any wingers. Fortunately, with Rossini being rather cheap, I had plenty of money to fix that:

El Jadeyauoi is definitely worth a look if you need a cheap winger and Christian is an amazing wingback, considering that he's available for nothing.

The Challenge

So, with the preparation out of the way it was on to the competition itself:

Rossini's first game. Pretty encouraging.

Nice result, but too few goals from Rossini.

Very embarassing.

This is the sort of thing that I like to see.

Aargh! The challenge ends prematurely.

Once you factor in the SPSC play-offs, I think I missed out on 12 matches.

The Result

A disappointing end to my attempt, but how did Rossini do in the time he had:

The injury took a toll on his stats.

EjJJt6a.png

A decent strike rate. If he'd managed to make it to the end he probably would have racked up a good score.

The Team

Put in great performances, but slacked off on the training.

A great player for the price.

Bargain.

Conclusion

So there we have it; the gauntlet is thrown down. I have a sneaking suspicion that Ashez may win this round, so it's up to the rest of you to give him a run for his money :D

@Peely: Ouch, unlucky mate! Did you rest/sub him much? A very unique pick for the striker, I've never seen him before but he looks interesting! Thankfully I knew it wasn't Origi so I also went for a more average striker, your injury could cost Vibe the round though! Thanks for being involved :)

@ Lee: Nope, Maxi is not my striker ;)

mine will be posted tomorrow so keep an eye out for those of you wanting to play next :)
