2015 Having real trouble.

Hi mates, after reading many guides on the forum about setting up tactics and teams I am still finding myself frustrated with losses.

I am very keen to take Middlesbrough up into the premier league, but I am struggling with championship sides and when I get drawn against mediocre premier league teams I am getting thrashed and not even scoring a goal.

I am getting LACK OF STEEL in midfield a lot in my after match reports and basically everything bad you may say about my strikers comes up in match reports.

I do manage to convert a few wins from time to time and have stuck to formations and tactics for several games until my players feel they are comfortable with hat style of play but even if I am winning it is only by one goal a lot of the time and I seem to be conceding to much for my liking.

If anyone could throw me a few pointers or even a few players that I could purchase as I have Sugar Daddy enabled.

When I was in the championship I played a 4-3-2-1 with two versatile inside forwards and Dlf up front. If I was chasing a goal or needed to change the game I would move the two inside forwards up front to make a front three (4-3-3) with two Dlf's and a poacher. Usually played defensive and short passing as I wanted the Dlf's to drop deep and collect the ball to create chances for the poacher.

It works great in the enchanted engine it might take a few games but normally works right away and it just kills teams,, don't know about lower leagues as I only play with Spurs but I win everything and if not I get beat in final.. If your missing loads of CCC your PCR is prob having a mare get him off, if your running out of time and need a goal push your Playmaker up into the hole but on the right side center so he's not in the way of your box2box, I don't think you need a real box2box player as any player with good work rate is very good there,,,my forward (Soldado) scores 50 goals a season,, this has to work for others as it never fails me,, now you might have s bad patch if your been talk up for the title but just say no comment not sure how to post screen shots so let me know and I'll do it

Can you tell us wit the Moreno one what players are best for ie inside forward and attacking midfielder thanks il try this tomorrow and se how I do

I use depay on left and sterling on right with lamela as back up to both,,and eriksen as play maker with dembele as box2box but just got Ramsey from arsenal and he's great box2box

That 4-1-2-2-1 is similar to what I suggested. The problem I had with that formation is the inside forwards never contributed enough during games, very few shots, assists or key passes and the deep midfielder always got a poor match rating.

 

I pushed the BWM into a midfield three which gave him a better rating and meant I outnumbered most teams in the middle and if chasing a game I pushed the inside forwards to a conventional forward three as they were able to contribute a lot more.

 

Apparently the latest update has fixed the 'behavior' of the inside forwards though so it may work better now.

Well I only downloaded game last week so it most be new update, but after one season with Spurs using this tactic and a good training program, I sold most of my players for good money (£74m) plus the 20m I had at start of game in now top dog in world football as I've just hammered barca 4-0 at there place in champion league and beat Man City 5-1 and chelsea 4-0, this game is easy now

There are a few great threads on here about setting up tactics and what players work best in each role. Take the time to read them as they are immensely helpful.

Also remember, if you are making massive changes to your chosen team (transfers/formations etc.) it will take time for your team to gel. So give it time and patience

When I was in the Championship I often started 4-3-2-1 like this:

 

WBK-CTR-CTR-WBK

 

    BBM-BWM-BBM

INF                       INF

             DLF

 

This worked fairly well but as I said I often found the level of player you could afford in the lower leagues meant your inside forwards never contributed enough so I would switch it to this if I was chasing a game or if I had a few bad results:

 

WBK-CTR-CTR-WBK

 

    BBM-BWM-BBM

 

  DLF-PCR-DLF

 

The second one is my preferred formation and works really well in the Premier League, the idea is that the two DLF provide assists for the poacher but also chip in with a few goals too. Once you get the better players you can change the DLF's to TRQ's and it works even better. I'm managing Boston Utd in the PL without Sugar Daddy and have just won the league in my second season with this and 6-points clear in my third with a few games to go.

As I reached The Championship in successive seasons some of my players weren't great so I would often play defensive with short passing and pressing, sometimes I would go balanced if we were in good form.

 

Now I have better players I use attacking, short, pressing and off-side trap.

Yea original first and if you need a goal or about 5 do this, it's a tweak ive been working on................ DLP....PCR ,,,,DLF.....................

And the goals will fly in
